SMS Messaging Privacy Policy

This policy describes how Green Connection (“Green Connection,” “we,” “us”) handles mobile phone numbers and text message (SMS) data. It supplements any other privacy policy we maintain and applies specifically to our SMS messaging program.
What we collect. When you provide a mobile phone number to Green Connection and consent to receive text messages, we collect and store that phone number, the date and method of your consent, and the content of SMS conversations between you and our staff. We may also associate this information with your existing customer or service account.
How we use it. We use your mobile number solely to conduct one-to-one conversations with you related to your relationship with Green Connection. This includes scheduling and confirming service visits, communicating technician arrival times, answering plant care and service questions, following up on quotes and proposals, notifying you about retail orders and pickups, and coordinating holiday lighting and décor installation or removal. We do not use SMS for marketing, promotional campaigns, bulk messaging, or automated alerts.
How we share it. We do not sell your phone number. We share it only with service providers who operate our communications systems on our behalf — including Microsoft, which provides the Microsoft Teams calling and messaging platform we use, and the underlying telecommunications carriers required to deliver your messages. These providers may process your information only as needed to deliver the service. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Green Connection, our customers, or others.
Mobile opt-in information will not be shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
How long we keep it. We retain SMS conversation records and consent records for as long as you remain a customer and for a reasonable period afterward, consistent with our business and recordkeeping needs and applicable law.
Your choices. You may stop receiving text messages from a Green Connection number at any time by replying STOP to that number. You may also ask us to remove your mobile number from our records by contacting us using the information below. Opting out of SMS does not affect your ability to work with us by phone, email, or in person.
